Habits and addictions can often make the sufferer feel out of control and alienated, and so can be deeply distressing to live with.  

 

Most habits are an automatic response to a particular stimulus and have become associated with a positive experience, usually a reduction in stress or anxiety, emotional distress or boredom - and a consequent feeling of relief.

 

Although habits and addictions can often feel ingrained and impossible to change, using hypnotherapy combined with NLP and CBT, they can be controlled and even eliminated altogether.

 

A combination of techniques can be used to increase awareness and knowledge, and to reprogramme unhelpful patterns of behaviour.

 

Hypnotherapy can be extremely effective in helping to overcome many habits and addictions, including:

 

·         hair and/or eyelash pulling (trichotillomania)

 

·         thumb sucking

 

·         nail biting

 

·         drinking too much alcohol
